Gabrielle Union turned 44 on Saturday, and to celebrate the occasion, her husband Dwyane Wade posted a nude photo of her on Instagram along with a sweet happy birthday message. But in doing so, he also managed to take a swipe at the NBA for fining him for something he did during the Bulls’ first game of the 2016-17 NBA season.
In the IG post, D-Wade wished Gabby a happy birthday and referred to her as the "ageless one" (no arguments here, especially after seeing that photo). But he also mentioned that, unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get her "something extravagant" for her big day, since he was fined $25,000 on Friday for making a throat-slashing gesture at the end of the Bulls’ season-opening game against the Celtics on Thursday night. For what it’s worth, Wade did apologize for making the gesture on Friday afternoon:
But it didn’t stop the league from putting a small dent in his pockets. "I would have gotten you something extravagant but I just got fined 25 grand," he wrote. "Set a brother back like a big dog BUT we will enjoy your day."
Something tells us Wade won’t have any trouble keeping his word there. Twenty-five grand might be a lot to the rest of us, but Wade signed a two-year, $47 million deal with the Bulls back in July, so he’s good.
