Victor Wembanyama is experiencing the wrath of Britney Spears' fanbase after getting posterized in an NBA Summer League contest days after he was involved in an incident with the pop star.
Earlier this week, Britney claimed she was hit in the face by a member of Wembanyama's security team in Las Vegas while dining at Catch in Las Vegas.
According to Spears, the pop star and her husband, Sam Asghari, were eating dinner Wednesday night when the incident occurred. Spears tapped Wembanyama on the shoulder to ask for a pic, at which point the Spurs’ Director of Team Security is alleged to have “backhanded” Spears.
A subsequent video of the incident appears to refute Spears' claim of being "backhanded" by Wembanyama's security team.
"Police say surveillance video shows Spears inadvertently hit herself in the face after her hand was pushed off Wembanyama," the Associated Press reported at the time.
On Friday, during Wembanyama's NBA Summer League debut, the No. 1 overall draft pick was posterized by Kai Jones, a Charlotte Hornets forward who's entering his third season in the NBA.
The highlight reel dunk has resulted in Britney fans trolling Wembanyama on Twitter.
