Toronto Maple Leafs winger Mitch Marner had his car stolen at gunpoint outside a movie theatre in Toronto on Monday night.
The Leafs confirmed Tuesday morning that the 25-year-old had his black Range Rover carjacked outside of the Queensway Cineplex movie theatre in Etobicoke. He was unharmed in the incident.
Police confirmed there was a carjacking in that area at 7:46 p.m. without any injuries. There are reportedly three suspects: two with handguns and one with a knife.
The Toronto Sun says Marner was “shaken up” but not hurt. Police are still searching for the suspects.
Marner and the Leafs were eliminated from the NHL playoffs on Saturday in Game 7 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
