LeBron Was Devastated to Learn Cavs Still Had a Timeout in Game 1

LeBron James was crushed to learn his team still had a timeout. Video has surfaced of coach Tyronn Lue informing the team that they had a timeout at the end of regulation.

By now, J.R. Smith's play at the end of Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals has been solidified in NBA history. With mere seconds remaining in regulation and the game tied, George Hill missed a free throw. J.R. got the offensive rebound feet from the basket, but he dribbled out to halfcourt, apparently think the Cavs were winning.

It was immediately apparent that LeBron James was furious with J.R. His reaction has become a viral meme.

Now, we have more insight into LeBron's response to J.R.'s boneheaded play. Video has surfaced of coach Tyronn Lue informing the team that they had a timeout at the end of regulation. Check out the 1:38 mark of the below video—LeBron was crushed. His teammates attempted to console him.

The Cavs couldn't bounce back from the mistake. Golden State outscored Cleveland 17-7 in the ensuing overtime period, claiming a 124-114 win.

Sunday's Game 2 wasn't nearly as close. The Warriors were on fire and cruised to a 122-103 win. Steph Curry set the NBA Finals record for made three-pointers in a game (nine) and finished with 33 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

LeBron didn't have his best game, but he was still terrific. King James racked up 29 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds.

Game 3 will take place Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST in Cleveland. Catch it on ABC.
