Two of the biggest names in the NBA are rumored to be joining forces as it has been reported that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving met to discuss free agency in New York.

On Friday's episode of The Herd withColin Cowherd, Ric Bucher claimed that Durant's devastating injury has not deterred Kyrie Irving from recruiting KD to be his future teammate.

"I'm told Kevin Durant is out of the hospital, moved into a hotel for the time being in the New York area and him and Kyrie have met and have continued to discuss playing together next season," Bucher told Cowherd. "KD has moved all his stuff and will spend his summer in New York. ... Every indication says KD is making plans to be elsewhere because obviously Kyrie will not be joining the Warriors any time soon."

As the two brightest stars to come into free agency this summer, it has been rumored that the pair would figure out their landing spots together. Adding to these suspicions is Irving's recent deal with Roc Nation. Last week, the point guard fired his former agent to join the firm that also handles Durant's dealings. All signs point to Irving signing with the Brooklyn Nets.

As for Durant, his ruptured Achilles tendon will cost him the entire 2019-2020 season. While this may impact the deal he decides to sign, he's still being courted by a host of teams. This includes the Nets who reportedly are willing to lose D'Angelo Russell to sign Irving and another free agent to max contracts.
