Jordan Brand pulled no punches in 2018. Not only did the Jumpman bring out two of the most coveted sneakers in its archive this year in massive amounts of pairs—the “Black/Cement” Air Jordan III and the “Concord” Air Jordan XI—it also brought new energy for women.
While retros will always be the biggest driver of Jordan Brand hype, the brand also dropped an in-game sneaker that collectors actually considered wearing off of the basketball court. That in itself is a win, considering that flagship Air Jordans have not been looked at as a lifestyle shoe in a long time. Along with well-executed collaborations from the likes of Off-White, Union Los Angeles, Travis Scott, and more, these elements made for one of the brand’s strongest years in recent memory.
