A24 rolled out a new trailer for Halina Reijn’s upcoming Bodies Bodies Bodies on Tuesday, complete with a succinct explainer of the rules of the game at the center of the well-reviewed slasher entry.

Early into the two-minute trailer, we see Maria Bakalova’s character ingesting what someone belatedly informs her is actually a weed-filled chocolate cake. The Borat 2 breakout star’s character appears to be a newcomer to a group known for, in the paraphrased words of another character, a (perhaps troublingly) unique brand of nihilism.

The setup here is a simple but clearly effective one. Several twentysomethings convene for a “hurricane party” at a middle-of-nowhere mansion. Not only does the rager itself go off the rails, but each member of the group is awakened to the revelatory shortcomings of those they thought were their friends.

Also featured in the film—which features a screenplay from Sarah DeLappe based on a story by Kristen Roupenian—are Pete Davidson, Amandla Stenberg, Myha’la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, and Lee Pace. The anticipated summer hit marks the feature-length follow-up to Halina Reijn’s directorial debut, the 2019 drama Instinct.

Bodies Bodies Bodies hits theaters on Aug. 12 following a limited engagement on Aug. 5. See the latest trailer, soundtracked by Charli XCX’s new track “Hot Girl,” up top. Keep an eye out for a well-intentioned but unenthusiastically received gift of zucchini bread in the trailer’s final seconds, then revisit the film’s previously released trailer here.
