A new teaser trailer for The Marvels, directed by Candyman helmer Nia DaCosta, has arrived.

The sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel brings back Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, plus two breakouts from Disney+ MCU shows: WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) and Iman Vellani of Ms. MarvelThe Kamala Khan-centric latter series saw Larson show up in a post-credits scene to set the table.

We first learned DaCosta would be directing the film back in August 2020. At the time, the Captain Marvel sequel was slated for a summer 2022 release. The filmmaker’s other credits include 2018’s Little Woods (her feature directorial debut), the aforementioned Candyman entry in 2021, and a pair of Top Boy episodes in 2019.

Back in 2021, DaCosta spoke with Roxane Gay about the experience of following up Little Woods and Candyman with a massive production like The Marvels. As DaCosta explained, the sheer scale of something like this allows her the opportunity to work with “the best people in their field” at every level of the filming process.

“My first film, if we didn’t get it within the schedule, it was never going to happen,” DaCosta said in the Inverse feature. “There was no additional photography. …Whereas on this, I’ll be like, ‘Oh God, I have to rush,’ and they’re like, ‘No, don’t rush. Don’t finish it today, finish it tomorrow.’”

Also featured in the cast of The Marvels are Samuel L. Jackson, Park Seo-joon, Zawe Ashton, and more. The film is set for a theatrical launch date of Nov. 10. Watch the new teaser trailer above.
