HBO has revealed the launch date for its new HBO Max streaming service.

As announced Tuesday, launch day is May 27 and will include the debuts of a new project from Anna Kendrick, as well as a slate of new Looney Tunes entries and more.

"Our number one goal is having extraordinary content for everyone in the family, and the HBO Max programming mix we are so excited to unveil on May 27th will bear that out," Robert Greenblatt, chairman of Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer, said in a press release on Tuesday. "Even in the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, the all-star teams behind every aspect of HBO Max will deliver a platform and a robust slate of content that is varied, of the highest quality, and second to none."

May 27 will see the Max debut of the aforementioned Kendrick-starring Love Life, the Sundance 2020 Official Selection On the Record, dance competition series Legendary, the Not Too Late Show With Elmo, and more. Additionally, users will have access to thousands of hours of premium content from HBO, as well as titles new and old from Warner Bros.

Max Originals will continue to be launched at "a regular cadence." Imminent releases include the unscripted Friends cast reunion special, which will certainly pale in comparison to the quasi-Seinfeld reunion famously staged within Curb Your Enthusiasm years ago, and some new sci-fi from Ridley Scott in the form of Raised by Wolves.
