By this time next year, we'll likely be dangerously salivating over the latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer while discussing how awesome Kurt Russell (still!) looks after all these years. To help ease us into that state of sustained hype, Marvel and Disney made this particular Wednesday a bit less horrendous by releasing a fresh teaser image (see above) to celebrate the kickoff of production at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.

Studio officials also confirmed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's cast, including previously rumored newcomers Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), Chris Sullivan (The Knick), and the aforementioned Kurt Russell (do you really need an example of a Kurt Russell movie?). Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and the rest of the original cast are also set to return to because why the hell would they not?

Back in December, chatter started to suggest that the Yung God Russell would be tapped to play Star-Lord (Pratt)'s presumably chill dad. Though a press release confirmed Russell's appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, additional details regarding his role and/or the general vibe of the highly anticipated sequel remain unknown.

Guardians 2 is set to bring the Russell on May 5, 2017.
