Keith David was left shocked after being recognized as a member of the 2026 Hollywood Walk of Fame class.

The actor, who has starred in movies such as Requiem for a Dream, Barbershop, ATL, Princess and the Frog and more, watched the announcements virtually earlier this week in support of his fellow entertainers.

After French actor Marion Cotillard was named, David was announced as a class member, at which point the 69-year-old could then be seen jumping towards his screen open-mouthed. He then clasped his chest and opened his mouth at his belated birthday gift.

"Oh my God," he told his tearful wife, Dionne Williams, who knelt down to embrace her husband and give him a kiss. The emotional moment rubbed off on David, who became teary-eyed and said, "Wow, thank you."

David elaborated on how surprised he was in an Instagram post, writing: "Being blessed to get to do this for a living is enough for me; to be recognized for my contribution to the arts is the cherry on top. [Prayer hands emoji]."

The actor went on to thank the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce before calling his wife his "greatest supporter." "This will be a wonderful birthday present next year," he concluded.

Despite the honor, David hasn't slowed down on acting projects, as he'll next star in the film The Price of Freedom and upcoming series The Lowdown.

Also receiving stars on the Walk of Fame next year are Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, Emily Blunt, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Gordon Ramsay, The Clark Sisters, Air Supply, among others.

ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
