Another rapper is developing another sitcom about a rapper. This time it's Common, who is working on a television project titled 93 Til Infinity (and by the way, if they're not planning on using Souls of Mischief for the theme song, they're messing up).
The sitcom is being developed for Fox with Common, Hamilton director Thomas Kail and How To Make It in America (R.I.P.) creator Ian Edelman serving as executive producers.
Common is prepping for the release of a new album on Nov. 4 titled Black America Again, which features Bilal on four tracks, including the singles "Letter to the Free" and "Home."
Stories about rappers seem to be trending with TV execs right now. News of 93 Til Infinity comes after Donald Glover found critical acclaim and huge ratings with his new FX series Atlanta about a local rapper and his cousin/manager. Earlier this month, it was reported that ABC had ordered a sitcom from Hamilton star and clipping rapper Daveed Diggs about a struggle rapper who runs for mayor to promote a mixtape, only to end up accidentally winning the election.
