Alden Ehrenreich is set to join the cast for Marvel’s forthcoming Disney+ series Ironheart.

Varietyreports the Solo: A Star Wars Story actor will star alongside Dominique Thorne, who will play Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates a suit of armor that rivals Iron Man’s own invention. The cast also features Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, and Manny Montana. Details of Ehrenreich’s character have yet to be revealed.

The six-part Disney+ series is being created by Chinaka Hodge, who will be the head writer on the show. Ironheart is based on the Marvel character of the same name, which was originally created for Marvel Comics in 2016, and first appeared in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 #7.

Ironheart is just the latest role Ehrenreich has been tapped for, as the actor is set to star opposite Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan’s 2023 film Oppenheimer, which is scheduled to hit theaters next summer. Prior to that, he will seen in Universal Pictures’ Elizabeth Banks-directed feature Cocaine Bear, which is set to be released next February.

Alden Ehrenreich is best known for his role in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Starring Alden as the titular character, with supporting performances from Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Donald Glover, Solo was ultimately the first Star Wars film to be considered a commercial flop as it grossed $393 million on a budget between $275-300 million.

Since then, the 32-year-old actor hasn’t appeared in a film, with next year’s Oppenheimer and Cocaine Bear set to be his first on-screen appearances since 2018’s Solo. In 2020, Ehrenreich appeared on the Peacock series “Brave New World.”
