Luca Guadagnino, the director behind Call Me By Your Name and the Suspiria remake, has just lined up his next project and Kid Cudi is involved. In his television debut, Guadagnino will write, direct, and serve as showrunner for the Italy-set HBO limited series We Are Who We Are, the Hollywood Reporter revealed.

Kudi will act in the coming-of-age series alongside Chloë Sevigny, Alice Braga, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jordan Kristine Seamon, Spence Moore II, Tom Mercier, Corey Knight, and newcomers Sebastiano Pigazzi and Ben Taylor. Also expected to make her acting debut in We Are Who We Are is Martin Scorsese's daughter, Francesca Scorsese.

While details on what the series will entail are currently light, international distributor Fremantle says it will tell "a coming of age story about two American teenagers who, along with their military and civilian parents, are living on an American military based in Italy." Just like with Call Me By Your Name, the show will explore teenagers navigating "friendship and first-love" across eight episodes.

To coincide with the announcement of the series, which doesn't have a release date just yet, pictures of the full cast were shared on InstagramWe Are Who We Are, just like the miniseries Chernobyl before it, is a co-production between HBO and Sky.

As for Cudi, this will mark his third collaboration with HBO. He previously starred in the series How to Make It in America, and will also appear in the third season of Westworld.
