Knives Out star Ana de Armas is in talks to join the forthcomingJohn Wickspinoff movie Ballerina, Deadline reports.

If the deal is finalized, de Armas will play the film’s lead role as an assassin who is out to get revenge against the people who murdered her family.

Ballerina will be directed by Len Wiseman. The filmmaker has previously directed movies in the Underworld franchise as well as 2012’s Total Recall and 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard. John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum co-writer Shay Hatten will pen the script for the spinoff while Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski will produce.

De Armas, who is in the new James Bond movie No Time to Die, has also acted in War Dogs, Blade Runner 2049, The Informer, Wasp Network, and other films.

Speaking of John Wick, the fourth installment in the Keanu Reeves-starring movie is set to hit theaters next year on May 27, 2022. Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Rina Sawayama will also star in the film, which is being directed by Stahelski.

But that’s not all. You’ve might have heard that the John Wick Universe will be expanding to TV with the prequel series The Continental. It was announced just last week that Mel Gibson has been cast in the three-night limited event series. News of Gibson being cast as a character called Cormac was met with mixed reviews.
