Trump Fires Back at Robert De Niro and Calls Him a 'Very Low IQ Individual'

POTUS reacts to De Niro's expletive-laden rant in the most predictable way: with childish jabs and grammatical errors.

After taking the stage at the 2018 Tony Awards this weekend, Robert De Niro had some very choice words for the country’s commander in chief: “I’m gonna say one thing: Fuck Trump!” the legendary actor told the audience. “It's no longer ‘Down with Trump’; it's ‘Fuck Trump.’”

De Niro’s denouncement of POTUS, of course, drew polarizing reactions, one of which came from Trump himself. (Insert the generic “pretends to be shocked” gif.)

“Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to [sic] many shots to the head by real boxers in movies,” Trump tweeted. “I watched him last night and truly believe me may be ‘punch-drunk.’ I guess he does not realize the economy is the best it’s ever been with employment being at an all time high, and many companies pouring back into our country. Wake up, Punchy!”

This is our world now. Just days after conducting a historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Trump took time out of his busy schedule to attack the star of Little Fockers. And not only did Trump childishly take shots at DeNiro’s intelligence, he did so with a glaring grammatical error: “[De Niro] has received to many shots to the head.” “To” many shots.

“To.”

If you’re brave enough to blast someone’s IQ, your grammar better be on point, Trump.

A day after the Tonys, De Niro continued to blast the president during a groundbreaking ceremony of the Japanese restaurant Nobu in Toronto. The actor specifically apologized to the Canadian Prime Minister as well as other leaders who attended the G7 summit Saturday.

“I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behavior of my president,” De Niro said. “It's a disgrace. And I apologize to Justin Trudeau and the other people at the G7. It's disgusting.”
