Sanaa Lathan Maintains She Didn't Bite Beyoncé, Calls the Whole Thing 'Absurd'

"I would never do anything malicious like that—to her, or to anyone," she says.

When Tiffany Haddish let it spill in a GQ interview that she offered to fight an unnamed actress who bit Beyoncé's face at a party, the search to figure out #WhoBitBey caused stars like Lena Dunham to deny claims it might be them, and Chrissy Teigen and John Legend to hint that they know who it was. Eventually, this lead to numerous reports that Sanaa Lathan was the culprit. Lathan would quickly deny the claims, taking to Twitter and adding that if she had bitten Bey, it would have been a "love bite." Whatever that means.

The actress addressed the rumors again in an interview for Health's June cover story, calling the whole thing "the most absurd thing [she's] ever been involved with." She went on to add that she's become accustomed to rumors about her as a Hollywood veteran. "Thank God I’ve been in this business for 20 years and have had so many rumors about me. They used to devastate me in my 20s, but in order to survive in this business, you just have to let it roll," she said. "I adore Beyonce. I would never do anything malicious like that—to her, or to anyone. It’s so bizarre."

It's likely that we'll never know who it really was, with the queen herself reportedly not wanting the guilty party to have to face the internet's wrath, and Tiffany Haddish signing a non-disclosure agreement on the matter meaning she can never reveal the story's last important detail, either.
