Watch a Teenage Cordae Rap Over Kanye West's "Gone": '16 Yr Old Me Was Fake Nice'

Cordae shared an old video of himself from when he was 16-years-old rapping in the car to the beat of Kanye West's classic ‘Late Registration’ track “Gone."

Cordae is a student of the game, and the young rapper has been honing his craft since he was a teenager.

Recently, the former YBN artist shared some early footage of himself rapping when he was only 16-years-old, highlighting that he could hear some of his latent abilities even back then.

“16 yr old me was fake nice haha #Tbt #FromaBirdsEyeView 1/14/22 🦅🦅👁 @kanyewest,” Cordae captioned the throwback video of himself freestyling in the car to Kanye West’s “Gone,” which was featured on the artist’s 2005 album Late Registration

This isn’t the first time footage of a young Cordae rapping and showing his early skills as a rapper has popped up. Back in 2016, during the heart of the Black Lives Matter protests for Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and others, a woman recorded a young man who began freestyling in the middle of a DMV rally to energize the crowd.

“How the hell am I supposed to pay attention in classes when all my people getting shot, dam this shit distracting,” a young Cordae spits to fellow protestors.

From these humble beginnings, Cordae now has his eyes set on releasing an impressive sophomore album with From A Bird’s Eye View. Ahead of its release, Cordae dropped two singles, “Super” and the Hit-Boy-produced track “Sinister” featuring Lil Wayne. Both songs came with captivating visuals as well.

From A Bird’s Eye View is due out at the beginning of 2022. You can watch a 16-year-old Cordae rapping to Kanye’s “Gone” beat up top.
