Nems has recruited some of New York City’s finest for a hard-hitting remix of “Bing Bong,” premiering above.
Featuring Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, and Styles P, the “Bing Bong” remix sees Nems flesh out the original track—which takes its name from his viral saying—while adding significant star power. New Yorkers will already be familiar with his now iconic phrase, which got a major push thanks to episodes of Sidetalk NYC and subsequent viral TikTok clips last year. Nems told Variety he “started the phrase” in early 2021.
“Fat Joe supported the track since it dropped, so I hit him and told him ‘Bing Bong’ was getting a lot of play on the radio, and that I’m gonna do a remix,” Nems told Complex of the remix. “I wanted to make it even more NYC, so [‘Bing Bong’ producer] Vinny Idol also produces for D-Block, I told him I wanted to get Styles P on it as well, a few days later I had a verse from Styles.”
Nems was ready to turn in the remix with Styles P and Fat Joe on it, until a chance encounter led to Busta Rhymes’ appearance. “I randomly ran into Busta outside of a club in the city, you know NYC nights. Busta was like ‘Yo, I love ‘Bing Bong’ is there a remix?’” said Nems. “I let Busta know that Joey Crack and Ghost were already on it, and that I was about to turn it in, and he told me he would record a verse and get it to me tomorrow. Busta was a man of his word; he sent the verse the next day and that’s how the ‘Bing Bong’ remix came together.”
The track is taken from Nems’ upcoming project Bing Kong, which arrives on Friday, March 18. Listen to the remix of “Bing Bong” above.
