Majid Jordan captures the fleeting moment of the passing season with their new song “Summer Rain.”
The OVO R&B duo string together a smooth story of finding cool love amidst the sweltering heat of summer on their latest offering. As an uptempo beat plays out in the background, Majid Al Maskati sings, “A fire at night, a beautiful sight/I light up the sky, I’m sending an SOS/The darker the blue, I’m thinking of you/I can’t close my eyes when I know what’s coming next/Love on the run as we watch her rising, it’s coming, it’s coming up golden.”
“Summer Rain” is the latest record Majid Jordan has released since dropping the visuals for their track “Waves of Blue” back in June. As the title suggests, varied hues of blue flash across the artist’s faces as the song play in the background. “Been Through That” was also released that month.
Fans have been anxiously waiting for the follow-up to Majid Jordan’s 2017 sophomore album, The Space Between. In August, the duo responded to a fan on Twitter who was asking about them about the status of their next album.
“A Majid Jordan album would be the best thing right now,” the fan tweeted, to which they responded, “Working on that. Promise.”
