The late Juice WRLD has continued to make an impact on the music industry long after his death. It was revealed on Tuesday that the Chicago MC posthumously earned 50 new RIAA platinum and gold certifications.
Among the accolades were “Lucid Dreams,” which went 9x platinum, and “All Girls Are the Same” which went 5x platinum. In regards to his albums, Death Race for Love was certified 2x platinum, and Goodbye and Good Riddance got its third platinum award, while Legends Never Die earned a second platinum plaque.
Juice WRLD has continued to appear all across the rap landscape since his unexpected passing in 2019. Aside from posthumous verses popping up on projects by Young Thug, Migos, Trippie Redd, Maroon 5, and others, fans were also thrilled when Juice popped up for an unexpected moment on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy track featuring Kid Cudi, “IMY2.” The appearance didn’t find Juice singing or rapping, but rather offering meaningful words of reflection.
“I think that’s what life is about,” Juice says in the quote which was pulled from a Montreality interview. “Truly finding yourself. And then closing your eyes and dying in your sleep.”
While Drake and Juice were never able to link up while the latter was alive, it was a nice surprise finally hearing his voice on a Drizzy record.
In other news, an episode of HBO’s Music Box docuseries on Juice WRLD titled Into The Abyss is set to premiere on December 16. Into The Abyss, which was directed by Tommy Oliver, will be “an intimate and often eye-opening exploration of the life and all-too-short career of wunderkind rapper Juice WRLD, told primarily though verité, his prolific music making, and his freestyles,” a press release said.
