Coi Leray has offered another response to rapper Erica Banks after she said Nicki Minaj only collaborates with “girls who don’t know how to rap.”

In a brief interview with TMZ, the rapper was asked how she felt about Banks’ recent comments. While Banks didn’t directly mention Leray, the comments could be perceived as a diss in her direction because of her recent Nicki collab “Blick Blick.”

“You gotta let bitches play the back, you know what I’m saying? Like, sometimes you can’t even feed into negative energy,” Coi said when asked about the shade Banks threw in the direction of Nicki’s collaborators. “At the end of the day, what you put in this earth is always going to come back to you. So if that’s the energy she wanna put out there, that’s the energy she gonna get. We all know what’s up, like, c’mon.”

Leray was asked if she felt the comments were directed at her, and she appeared dismissive of the suggestion. “It definitely wasn’t a shot at me, because we got a collab,” she continued. “I think that people are still learning, and as an artist, you go through a developing stage and you learn a lot. I feel like she just might be at that stage. God forgive…she might look back at it, and might wanna be like, ‘You know, I wish I looked at things different. I apologize.’ … That’s what a real bitch would do, not a rap bitch, a real bitch. Period. I don’t give a fuck about Erica Banks.”

When she spoke with TMZ, Coi also addressed the first-week performance of Trendsetter. While there was a lot of hype surrounding the record in the run-up, it shifted 11,500 equivalent album units in its debut week, landing at No. 89 on the Billboard 200. Some were critical, but Leray doesn’t seem bothered about the reaction.

“Yeah, I’m happy, I’m super excited,” she said of her first week sales. She also said many debut albums from great artists don’t set the charts on fire.
