Drake wasn’t going to “Pipe Down” when he hit the stage with J. Cole Friday night in Miami.

During the opening stop of Cole’s The Off-Season Tour, the rapper invited Drizzy and Future on stage with him for a performance of their No. 1 hit “Way 2 Sexy.” Afterwards, Drake took the moment to give Cole his flowers.

“I gotta say this ’cause I don’t always wanna have a heartfelt moment when we’re on stage together,” Drake says around the 3:30-mark of the clip above. “You know, you did that ‘Pipe Down’ freestyle the other day. You was sayin’ in the freestyle that they gave you the bronze or whatever, me and Kendrick...I just want you to understand something. You are genuinely, without a doubt, one of the greatest rappers to ever touch a mic.”

Drake was of course referring to last week’s “Heaven’s EP” freestyle, where Cole rapped that, “Some people say that I’m running third, they threw the bronze at me/Behind Drake and Dot, yeah, them n***as is superstars to me.”

And as Drake puts it, not everyone out there places Cole in the third spot.

“I just want to let you know, there’s way too many people in the world that think and know that Cole is in the top position,” “I love you with all my heart, you’re my brother, one of my favorite artists. Always appreciate you having me out here.”

Cole took the comment in stride, embracing Drake after his speech. But Cole isn’t the only one who Drake is sharing the love with. Last week, Drizzy took to Instagram to dedicate his Nike sub-label NOCTA golf collection to his uncle Stephen, a man who he said is “one of my idols.”

“My grandmother Evelyn Sher has a resting place close to the King Valley Golf Club and our drives and visits to that course hold some of my most valuable life lessons and will forever be cherished,” Drake wrote alongside a photo of his uncle. “The Stephen Sher Nocta Golf collection is available September 23.”
