The Game has announced that his long-awaited album, The Documentary III, is finally about to be released.

On Thursday (August 20), the Compton rapper took to Instagram to surprise fans with news that DC3 would be arriving on streaming services later this evening.

"The Documentary III available on ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS at 9pm pacific & midnight eastern TONITE !!!!!," he captioned the album's cover art. "CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO TO PRE-SAVE NOW !!!!!!!!"

Alongside the album's cover art (shot by Jonathan Mannion), Game revealed that he co-produced the project with Tommy Brown, Mike & Keys, and Travis Wilson. The Documentary III was mixed and mastered by Treyvonce Moore.

"Everybody that worked on album, I love & appreciate you in a major way.. we bout to reset this shit one time for the one time !!!," he wrote, before giving it up to his supporters. "& my fans who’ve been more than patient with me while trying to bring yall this heat.. I’m super down for yall. We here now.. let’s get it !!!!

Just hours before the surprise announcement, Akademiks premiered a new Game track called "No Brakes" featuring Drake, which seemingly hears the former G-Unit rapper throwing shots at Kendrick Lamar.

Tensions between The Game and K.Dot trace back to Game's 2015 Drake collaboration, "100." By featuring Drizzy on this new, unapologetically West Coast track right after the Toronto rapper's high-profile beef with Kendrick, Game makes his loyalty clear — and it isn't with his fellow Compton native.

"Me, Drake and a Draco, we the Three Amigos," Game raps on "No Brakes," before appearing to throw shade at Kendrick by stating what side of the beef he stands on. "N***a said pick a side, then I’m picking homicide."

According to Akademiks, other collabs supposedly set to feature on The Documentary III include Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and more.

YG is also said to be on the album, which was something Game revealed himself during his July VERZUZ match up with the Bompton rapper.

In a post-event interview with Complex's Jordan Rose, The Game said: "YG on it. That's it, that's all I'ma say about that. The Documentary 3. 22 years [sic. It’s actually 21 years] since the first one. Blood is on my shit, and I'm proud about that. It's some West Side Bompton shit."

The two also dropped "Red People," a Swizz Beatz and Timbaland-produced track, on the day of the VERZUZ show.
