French Montana and his brother Ayoub have linked up for the new Coke Boys Records release “Slidin.”

In a statement sent to Complex, Ayoub said he’s always been “curious about pursuing music,” ultimately resulting in him taking the plunge with self-recording and producing.

“I figured out how to record myself and produce so that was the first step in my journey as an artist,” Ayoub said. “‘Slidin’ was first created in my room, like a lot of my songs. French heard the first draft of the song and loved it.”

For French, the collab ended up becoming his “favorite song” he’s dropped in 2022.

“Working with my bro was something I’ve been looking forward to for some time. Excited for the world to hear,” he said.

This week, French made headlines after alleging during an interview with Akademiks for the Off the Record podcast that record labels are profiting from artists’ death by way of life insurance.

“You preying on making millions on his death. … They’re being realistic and you know, you’re supposed to have life insurance anyway, but when the label does it if you don’t have one, that’s crazy, you know?” he said when detailing his argument.

In June, French rolled out a new album with Harry Fraud titled Montega. A video for the track “Keep It Real,” featuring EST Gee, is slated to drop next week. Stay tuned.
