Ahead of his ComplexCon headlining performance this weekend, ASAP Rocky gave fans another update on new music during a Los Angeles edition of the coveted Desus & Mero sitdown.

Early into the 15-minute discussion, the artist was asked about his upcoming All Smiles  album, which has previously been reported to include contributions from the largely smile-free, 62-year-old Morrissey.

“I kinda been in the zone,” Rocky said around the 1:38 mark in the video up top. “Just, like, trying to isolate from everything, to try and stay focused and try not to be too influenced by everything but still keep my eye on what’s going on and stuff. I just been low-key.”

All Smiles was mentioned in a GQ interview with Rocky back in May as being roughly “90 percent” complete at the time.

Later in the interview, Rocky briefly reflected on his widely publicized 2019 arrest in Stockholm, Sweden while also getting in a few jokes about the experience.

“Not for nothing, that shit was just, it was a little scary because I wasn’t familiar with that country,” he said. “Then, their rules is different. No bail system, none of that stuff. That shit was trash. For what it’s worth, though, the IKEA furniture was nice in there.”

Rocky also got candid with the esteemed Showtime duo about overworked public defenders, a realization that led to him ditching Backwoods, and—of course—the reveal of his neon sign. See more up top.

At this weekend’s ComplexCon, Rocky will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut mixtape Live. Love. ASAP. Last month, the tape—in addition new track “Sandman”—was (finally) released to streaming services.
