This week Nelly was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri, for possession of ecstasy and several other offenses.
According to his Missouri State arrest record online, the rapper was arrested on Wednesday morning after police pulled him over for an outstanding traffic summons in Maryland Heights, just outside of St. Louis. Police took him into custody over possession of four ecstasy pills and for not having insurance. He has since been released.
News of the arrest comes after Ashanti recently held two baby showers for the couple's first child together. The second party was held at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York, while the first was held at a Dolce & Gabbana store in New York City.
Nelly recently clapped back at a fan who had an issue with his marriage to Ashanti. The person left a comment during an Instagram Live stream about the rapper being drunk while live, arguing that Ashanti should be ashamed of him.
The St. Louis native fired back at the fan, claiming Ashanti was doing fine and that the couple encouraged each other to be happy first and foremost.
"Let me tell you something, shawty: She's straight. And she encourages my happiness. That's why we're together–I encourage her. So whatever makes me happy, she kick in. Whatever makes her happy, I kick in. So know that," he said. "So you ain't gotta 'poor her,' it might be, 'poor you.' Get your shit together."
