Swae Lee was involved in a pretty serious scuffle with Coachella security moments before he and Slim Jxmmi were supposed to perform.

The fight went down during Coachella’s second weekend and was caught on video and subsequently shared by TMZ, as seen above. Swae’s management told the outlet that trouble began as the duo walked towards Coachella’s Outdoor Theatre stage at around 5:55 PM on Sunday, with security saying at the time they did not recognize the Sremm 4 Life hitmaker. As multiple security guards descended on Swae, that’s when things ultimately turned violent. To make matters worse, Swae’s newborn son was in the vicinity of the brawl.

The video shows Swae getting knocked against the fence as multiple security guards begin to pummel a man in the rapper’s camp. One of Swae’s security quickly grabs Swae’s newborn son, who was next to Swae in a car seat, and moves him out of the way as the brawl continues.

“As Swae Lee attempted to enter the festival with his newborn son and working crew, overzealous security guards confronted them,” the rapper’s management said. “Security claimed not to recognize the talent and then aggressively initiated contact as they attempted to make their way to the stage.”

Swae’s management added that the security guys were “independent contractors” who were “clearly being the aggressors and then throwing gang signs at end of the video in a celebration.”

Luckily, the pair were still able to perform. Rae Sremmurd’s Coachella performance comes shortly after the duo returned with Sremm 4 Life earlier this year, their first full-length project since SR3MM, which dropped in May 2018 and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
