Miguel Questions 'Relationship To Pain' Days After Attaching Hooks To Bare Back

Miguel has asked his supporters to question their "relationship to pain" mere days after he was suspended in the air by meathooks to promote his new album.

For his upcoming album VISCERA, the "Sure Thing" singer hosted a special "Viscera Experience" event at Sony Studios in Los Angeles on Aug. 25, but his audience got far more than they bargained for during the jaw-dropping stunt.

While the reaction was mixed across the board, Miguel took to Instagram on Monday to showcase the aftermath of the stunt and showed off his cut-up back and blood-soaked tank top.

"VISCERA," he wrote. "What is your relationship to pain? What is your relationship to change?"

Miguel performed four tracks from the upcoming album, all of which included some form of body manipulation. The hook stunt came as Miguel sang a track titled “Number 9."

Although Miguel's upcoming LP doesn't have a release date yet, the new project will serve as his first studio release since 2017's War & Leisure, which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Billboard US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with 40,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. The album was later certified gold.

In April, Miguel officially returned to music with his single "Give It to Me" after his 2013 cut "Sure Thing" went viral on TikTok.
