“War” is the newest posthumous single from the late King Von, off his upcoming album What It Means to Be King.

The hard-hitting track finds Von attacking the beat with his menacing flow as he raps about being ready for anything.

The latest single to drop off What It Means To Be King comes after the album’s 21 Savage-assisted single “Don’t Play” dropped on February 5. The track debuted at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Von’s highest-charting single to date. Von initially previewed the Kid Hazel-produced track on social media in October 2020, one month before he was tragically gunned down outside a hookah lounge in Atlanta.

“Don’t Play” served as his first collaboration with 21 Savage, who was close with Von and his family before his murder. 21 actually gifted Von’s little sister a new Range Rover following the rapper's death, but some fans questioned his motives behind the act.

“I never speak on stuff like this because I don’t do it for the Internet but y’all being disrespectful,” 21 tweeted following the criticism. “I knew Kayla before I knew Von because she talks to my little brother. Von was already planning on purchasing the gift for her birthday and due to his untimely passing he wasn’t able to finish so all I did was finish what he started because I told Kayla when he passed I had her 4L and I meant it.”

“War” comes after Von’s estate unveiled the cover art for What It Means To Be King on Instagram on Monday, which you can peep above.

What It Means To Be King is the follow-up to Von’s 2020 debut Welcome To O’Block, which featured appearances from Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo, Dreezy, Fivio Foreign and Polo G. The 16-track project dropped via Durk’s Only the Family label and EMPIRE. It served as the follow-up to Von’s Levon James effort, which peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard 200.
