Juvenile has been added to the 2023 Essence Festival lineup after the New Orleans rapper criticized the lineup for not including him.

The NOLA rapper questioned the festival's legitimacy on Twitter earlier this week after Essence organizers shared a flyer promoting the “The South Got Something To Say” set, which is being curated by Jermaine Dupri and features artists including Big Boi, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and T.I.

“How is essence doing 50 years of hip hop in New Orleans without me???” Juvenile wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

Now it seems the festival has remedied their transgression, with Juvenile tweeting that he'd been included in the Essence Fest evening concert lineup on June 30.

"Hip-Hop 50 without Juvie? Not a chance. June 30th, NOLA we live!" he wrote.
