The NOLA rapper questioned the festival's legitimacy on Twitter earlier this week after Essence organizers shared a flyer promoting the “The South Got Something To Say” set, which is being curated by Jermaine Dupri and features artists including Big Boi, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and T.I.
“How is essence doing 50 years of hip hop in New Orleans without me???” Juvenile wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Now it seems the festival has remedied their transgression, with Juvenile tweeting that he'd been included in the Essence Fest evening concert lineup on June 30.
"Hip-Hop 50 without Juvie? Not a chance. June 30th, NOLA we live!" he wrote.
The festival will additionally include performances from Missy Elliott, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Doug E. Fresh, Megan Thee Stallion, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, EPMD, KRS-One, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Big Boi, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon, T.I., Ice-T, Eve, Ice Cube, and Salt-N-Pepa, among others.
The three night affair kicks off in NOLA's Caesars Superdome and runs from June 30 to July 2. Juvenile will additionally perform at a festival he and Mannie Fresh started called “Donna Fest.”
