After several months of teasing, Mike Shabb has finally released Bokleen World, the Montreal rapper’s second album of 2022 on streaming platforms after initially premiering it as a purchase-only option on his website on Nov. 20.

Like Sewaside II, Shabb’s first project of the year, Bokleen World is self-produced and keeps the features to a minimum. Chung is the featured artist on “What’s the 514,” while Raz Fresco appears on “Nickelodeon” and shares some wisdom on “Mathematics (Skit).”

Shabb opted for a single-lite rollout, only dropping the single “K.D. Stats” just two weeks before the album arrived on streaming platforms.

Leading up to Bokleen World, Shabb has been turning heads, producing “Switches on Everything" for Westside Gunn’s latest album 10. The track caught the attention of Joe Budden who shouted him out on his podcast.

Back in September, Kevin Durant tweeted out a link to Shabb’s track “Ketchup & Mustard.” He had previously shared a screenshot on his Instagram story of him listening to “Blood Bath.”

Shabb’s chops behind the boards were also put on display on fellow Montreal rapper Chung’s album See You When I C U, where he produced the majority of the project alongside Nicholas Craven.

Shabb and Craven have also teased a collaborative album for 2023, but there is no concrete release date yet.
