Miguel has revealed that he enjoys the psychedelic delights of magic mushrooms, especially when taking them outside.
The R&B singer, who just released his new album, CAOS, sat down with Bootleg Kev for a new interview, during which he was asked to share stories about his best and worst trips while under the influence.
"We love psychedelics," Miguel said at around the 29:45 minute mark in the video below, before adding that he's had "mostly good trips."
"The best ones are always outside, though," he went on. "Either by water or in the forest kind of vibe. Maybe not in the forest, but like the sky is out. You know what I mean? Like you're looking at the trees, you're like, ‘Wow, we really are one.'"
He continued: "There's a real something in — especially shrooms and psychedelics — that there's something in the…it's all one, you know, there's the oneness of it. I don't know. There's something really special. Never had a bad trip, though."
While having never had a bad trip on psychedelics, Miguel did admit that the same can't be said weed.
"I've had some bad trips," he explained. "They always end up in me crying over some bullshit." One trip in particular was while he was on an edible. "I was like under a car, hiding. … That’s one, you got to ride that out," he said.
On Thursday (October 23), Miguel released his first studio album in eight years, CAOS. The 12-track album includes only one feature, from the legendary George Clinton. The singer’s last studio album was 2017’s War & Leisure. Between that project and CAOS, he released two EPs: 2019’s Te Lo Dije and 2021’s Art Dealer Chic 4.
