Nas Pens Open Letter to Kelis: 'You Will NOT Stop Me From Fighting for My Son'

Nas went to Instagram on Thursday night with a series of posts directed at his ex-wife, Kelis.

The rapper started his message by claiming he received a phone call from Essence magazine regarding a "fictitious story" from Kelis. Though Nas didn't reveal specifics about the alleged report, he insisted it was part of an ongoing smear campaign carried out by his ex-wife. He accused Kelis of trying to tarnish his reputation because he secured joint custody of their son.

"So many absentee fathers out here and here I am being attacked by your accusations simply because i got us in court to help fix this the custody matter?" he wrote. "Why did I have to take you to court to see our son? Why when I win the joint custody (which is a win for both of us and our son [...] ) why do you feel that's an attack on you? Is it control ? Why do you need to have control over my life?"

Nas went on to lob several accusations against Kelis, including her alleged verbal abuse toward his daughter as well as physical violence towards him. He claimed he was sitting on a lot of damaging information, but refused to make it public because he wants to protect their child.

"There’s some seriously crazy things I won’t I disclose for our son’s sake," he wrote. "Because you keep my son from me I've been going thru [sic] lawyers to stop you from this bullshit I’m tired of it. I’m tired of you painting a bad picture of me."

He continued: "And I’m no longer allowing you to take advantage of the fact that I did not want to respond in a manner that could affect my kids , friends or family publicly. THAT ENDS TODAY."

Nas also denied Kelis' claims that he was violent towards her, writing: "I do not beat women. I did not beat up my ex wife. Stop. You got beat up in court."
