In an interview released earlier this week on Haus of Aaron, Ne-Yo's former fiancée, Monyetta Shaw-Carter, suggested that they ended their engagement because he repeatedly asked for threesomes.

"He wasn't ready. We cheated together, if that makes sense," the Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared at the 9-minute mark of the interview after she was asked if her ex-fiancée cheated on her. "We did things together. It’s not cheating if you’re involved with it." She held up three fingers at one point, just to clarify that she was referring to threesomes in particular.

“I was like, ‘Well, no, I didn’t sign up to do this every day.’ It became a problem when he wanted that a lot," Shaw-Carter continued. She admitted that it was something she was happy to oblige in "maybe twice a year," but ultimately he was asking to have threesomes far too frequently for her liking. "I tried to keep it cute and spicy, but it wasn't enough," she shared. "But it is what it is."

The couple were engaged from 2010 to 2013 and are co-parenting their 12-year-old daughter Madilyn and 11-year-old son Mason. She later got engaged to her now-husband Heath Carter in 2020, and she made it clear that they are not interested in engaging in threesomes. "He sees me," she shared, "and it feels amazing."

Ne-Yo, meanwhile, was married to Crystal Renay, whom he first tied the knot with in 2016 and then later remarried in 2022. They finalized their divorce earlier this year, however. She accused him of being unfaithful during the eight years of their relationship.

“Eight years of lies and deception. Eight years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous women who sell their bodies to him unprotected,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane.” He agreed to pay her a $1.6 million lump sum, and $20,000 in moving expenses. They share custody of their three kids, and he's retained ownership of their four shared homes.

In July, the "Miss Independent" singer was seen in Miami holding hands with two different women. So, presumably, he's still a big fan of the occasional ménage à trois.
