Jeremih has shared the music video for his smooth new track “Changes.”

The singer-songwriter has returned with a dramatic video directed by Mills Miller, which shows Jeremih and his love interest alongside Chicago’s downtown Riverwalk. Showcasing a relationship that goes from smitten to troubled in a flash, the music video is equal parts modern and R&B throwback. It even features Jeremih and his partner in the pouring rain, as if the ‘90s feel of the video wasn’t enough already.

“We all go back & forth sometimes with relationships and the various changes they can have,” said Jeremih in a press release for the track. “The ups, the downs, but the best change is having someone that’ll make you stop doing what you’re doing to focus on just that.” The track is the first single from his upcoming fourth studio album, which will serve as a follow-up to his 2015 effort, Late Nights. In the years since that project dropped, Jeremih has been relatively quiet, so “Changes” marks a big return for him.

Earlier this year, Jeremih reissued his debut mixtape Late Nights with Jeremih on digital streaming platforms. The project, which originally arrived all the way back in 2012, saw the Chicago singer make a splash with a series of high-profile features. Among those to collaborate with him on his first release include Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, E-40, and Gucci Mane.
