It's been a huge year for marquee releases, with the last month going particularly non-stop with albums from music's biggest stars. The winner so far is Beerbongs & Bentleys, Post Malone's second studio set, which has outdone every other album in 2018.
Billboard reports that Beerbongs has accumulated 1.791 million album equivalent units since it dropped on April 27. Post's LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 461,000 units during its first week.
The second-best performing album of 2018 so far—Billboard's tracking period being Dec. 29, 2017 to June 28, 2018—goes to The Greatest Showman soundtrack with 1.602 million units, while the third-biggest is Cardi B's debut Invasion of Privacy is No. 3 with 1.113 million units, while husband Offset shows up at No. 4 with Migos'Culture II moving 1.088 million units.
The top 10 is rounded out by Black Panther: The Album, Ed Sheeran's Divide, J. Cole's KOD, Post Malone again with Stoney, XXXTentacion's ?, and Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods.
As pointed out by Billboard, hip-hop and R&B are music's biggest genres in 2018, accounting for 31 percent of the market share of combined album sales.
The most-streamed song of the year is Drake's "God's Plan," which has accumulated 1.121 billion streams, making it the only song to top a billion streams in 2018. The second-most streamed song of the year is Post Malone and Ty Dolla Sign's "Psycho," which saw 576 million streams in comparison.
