Tory Lanez has never shied away from competition. Now it seems like the Toronto artist is taking this competitive spirit to social media as he's the latest artist to agree to participate in an Instagram Live battle.

After a brief delay, Lanez and rapper French Montana are squaring off on IG Live where they'll put their hits up against each other. Both artists took to social media to announce the impromptu exhibition.

"QUARANTINE QUARANTINE QUARANTINE ! Live today 2:30 PM .... and this just in [French Montana] say he wanna go song for song w me !!! I ain’t gone lie French , u got some bangers FOR YEARS but I have no problem doing this for #Quarantine Radio," Lanez captioned an Instagram post.

French responded by posting a video of him playing basketball by his pool at his Miami home.

"Today we going live. Hit for hit," French said. "We gonna see what it is."

Fans became increasingly hype as 2:30 rolled around—but they unfortunately had to wait a little longer. French was unable to stream at the originally scheduled time, so Lanez and Co. made sure to keep viewers entertained: They invited some twerking women to join the stream and had Drake drop in to take a shot with Lanez.

Nah, Chris Brown called Drake and told him to jump on Quarantine Radio with Tory Lanez. 😭😭😭😭 I.G Live is LIT !!!

According the Chixtape rapper, the Tuesday afternoon stream broke an Instagram Live record with more than 300,000 simultaneous viewers.

Can Lanez and French set another Instagram Live record with tonight's battle? We'll soon find out. You can stream the action now on the artists' Instagram pages.

Lanez has been busy during this period of social distancing. Along with hosting his Quarantine Radio show on Instagram Live, he's also gearing up to drop his New Toronto 3 mixtape on April 10.
