The Weeknd marked his return to Instagram with a blurry black and white image, alongside the quote, “the fall starts tomorrow night.”
Later, he shared the same image to his IG Story, with the message, “tomorrow night we start again,” according to E!
It looks like the singer is gearing up to release new music—but about an old flame. While he’s being tight-lipped about upcoming releases, the outlet reports that Abel has registered a song titled “Like Selena” with ASCAP. Judging from his IG post, it looks like he might drop a track Wednesday night, though it’s unclear if it’s the one seemingly about Selena Gomez.
Even though Gomez and Abel broke up in 2017 after dating for 10 months, he sang about her on hisMy Dear Melancholy album. He even allegedly cried while performing the album cut “Call Out My Name” during Coachella that year, a song which is said to be about Gomez.
After Abel and Gomez broke up in October 2017, she started dating Justin Bieber again. She and Bieber subsequently split for good in March 2018. The Weekend then began dating his ex Bella Hadid in 2018, followed by a reported break up in August 2019.
Abel and Gomez’s split was blamed on their differing schedules. A source told People, “She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”
