Desiigner took to his Instagram Live feed on Tuesday, where he discussed his current label situation.

“Ain’t nobody drop me, I asked for my release,” he said. “The only label I’m on right now is L.O.D.” He added that “This is the dream of every artist,” which likely is a reference to leaving G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam for his independence. He also teased that he’ll be dropping more music soon.

On Monday, the rapper released the song and video for “Diva.” According to Hip Hop N More, Desiigner readied his fans for the video by writing in a since-deleted tweet, “Feels Good To Be Free! New Visual Out Tomorrow!” The outlet also reports that it’s his first YouTube video in years that doesn’t bear G.O.O.D. Music, Def Jam, or Universal Music insignias.

Hip Hop N More also reports that prior to the release of “Diva,” a full-length album by the rapper surfaced online, surprising fans. Titled F*ck G.O.O.D., the project was uploaded to SoundCloud and included features from  French Montana, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Swae Lee, Quavo, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, The-Dream, and more. Many believed that Desiigner leaked his own album out of frustration with his label, which he felt wasn’t helping further his career.

A few days before the album leaked, Desiigner tweeted, “FREE ME FROM THIS LABLE.”

It wasn’t the first time the rapper has called G.O.O.D. Music out. In September, he claimed he was having trouble with the label in regards to shooting a music video. He also expressed his displeasure with the label and its founder, Kanye West, at the top of 2019. Desiigner signed with G.O.O.D. Music back in 2016.

Complex has reached out to a rep for Def Jam.
