On Thursday, the 29-year-old rapper released Legendary, the follow-up to 2018’s Kyoto. Tyga recently revealed he had no intentions of dropping a full-length project, but felt inspired after receiving constant requests from fans.
“I really didn’t plan to have a whole album,” Tyga said in a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest. “I was just putting out singles, just putting out party vibes, and I was just recording as I went and people were like ‘We want an album! We want an album!’ So I was like it’s only right one year later, let me drop it for the summer.”
Legendary includes the previously released singles “Taste” with Offset and “Haute” with J. Balvin and Chris Brown. Other featured artists are Lil Wayne ("On Me"), Blueface ("Stash"), Swae Lee ("Vibrate"), A Boogie wit da Hoodie ("Goddamn"), and Gunna, who handles the title track.
Stream Legendary now on Apple Music and Spotify.
Despite just being released, Tyga's new album has already been certified Gold by the RIAA thanks to the inclusion of the hit record "Taste" featuring Offset.
