2018 was a great year to be a fan of Pusha-T, who dropped both one of the best albums of the year with DAYTONA, and also one of the most-talked about diss songs since "Back to Back" with "The Story of Adidon." The G.O.O.D. Music president recently sat down for an interview with Essence, and it would appear as though he's making sure his fans will stay just as fed in 2019 as they were this year.

"I’ve got the ideas and some of the foundation already laid. It’s coming together and will be out soon," Push told Essence after promising there will be "new music for sure" in the new year. "2018 was pretty great all around for me. It will be hard to top it, but [it’s] not going to stop me from trying."

Considering the overwhelmingly positive reception to the Kanye West-produced DAYTONA, Pusha would be crazy not to be thinking about a follow-up to the record already.

As for his general thoughts on the current state of hip-hop, Pusha-T remains positive about where the future is headed. “Hip-hop is the youngest genre and it’s only going to get bigger,” he explained. “As time goes on, you see there being different lanes for different types of artists and the styles evolving. The world is catching up slowly and the mix of cultures is only going to shake things up even more.”
