Is the new music from Partynextdoor going to stop flowing in any time soon? The Canadian singer has been on a roll lately, dropping tracks with Wiz Khalifa, Jadakiss, and Ty Dolla Sign all within the last month. Now he's back with another new song, titled "Own Up to Your Shit," and it's officially time to start asking if an album is dropping soon.
Maybe that sounds a little ambitious after dropping an EP, Colours 2, earlier this year, but all these new songs can't possibly be coming out for no reason. "Party" with Wiz Khalifa is reportedly an old song that just happened to find the light of day recently, though the rest of the set is all new work from what we know.
But let's focus on "Own Up to Your Shit" for a moment. The song appears to be a message directed at one of his exes who hasn't taken responsibility for her role in the couple's issues. There's even a hint about which one of his former flames he's referring to within the song: "I’m the only one who put his head down on your hospital bed/You the one who let me down."
In all likelihood, Party is referring to Kehlani, who was hospitalized following an apparent suicide attempt in March 2016. During her moment of trauma, PND was spotted at her bedside, showing support for his former love by remaining by her side during a traumatic time.
PND goes even deeper into the incident: "I was the one who called the ambulance and said you was forgiven/Even though that I was the one that was cheated on and watched her tell the story wrong." There's nothing all that subtle about the message here as PND airs his grievances with Kehlani over a funky background.
You can listen to the song on PND's website or below, and you'll have to wait patiently on Club Atlantis like the rest of us, because despite all the new drops, PND remains quiet on whatever is set to come in the future.
