Watch Virgil Abloh's Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2021 Show f/ yasiin bey

Virgil said on Thursday his "whole being has been poured out" into the resulting film, which also features Saul Williams and Kai-Isaiah Jamal.

Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2021 show starred yasiin bey, which premiered during a livestream event on YouTube early Thursday morning.

When sharing the full list of credits for the show—dubbed "Peculiar Contrast, Perfect Light"—artistic director Virgil Abloh said his "whole being has been poured out" into this film.

"The only thing important to me right now is that the names in the credits and every member of my [Louis Vuitton] team feels their genius," he added.

Also featured in the film by Abloh and Moved by the Motion are Saul Williams and Kai-Isaiah Jamal, with direction by Wu Tsang and creative direction/performance choreography from Josh Johnson.

The collection itself, titled "E B O N I C S," was immediately praised following Thursday's livestream event as a potentially career-defining work of art. Among the most-discussed pieces are the new Christopher backpack in Epi leather, a new Keepall bag in a fresh finish, a neon-infused Attaché bag, a plane-shaped Monogram bag, and a reflective tote:

Earlier this month, Abloh appeared on a new episode of Pharrell's OTHERtone podcast, resulting in a fascinating back-and-forth about his legacy-related goals. He also went deep on how the idea of aging has changed for his generation, putting forth an inspiring take on the power of being able to retain the essence of one's youth while simultaneously maturing in terms of artistic execution.

"There's something in [aging] that our parents didn't have," he said. "And obviously it was a different society but we're able to hold onto our youth and be young and still put forth mature ideas. All of our brains are going through another level, where we have a whole body of work that we can reject but still feel as progressive as we were when we were 17."
