Fat Joe, fresh off launching a wave of Yeezy NSTLD memes, has introduced fans to his take on “pushing P” with the debut of a watch he says carries a value of $4 million.
In a clip shared to Instagram, the veteran artist was seen unveiling the piece from the folks over at Pristine Jewelers in NYC. “Big boy came in, it’s called the Avalanche,” Joe said in the clip. “Don’t do this to yourself guys. Four mill to the wrist. It come with a 24-hour security. This how I’m pushing P… You don’t want this type of smoke right here. This what I call pushing P.”
In a follow-up post, Joe seemingly referenced those aforementioned Yeezy boots, claiming he intended for that moment to serve as a precursor of sorts for the unveiling of the Avalanche. “This why I wore the boots,” he said when sharing footage of the watch. “THE AVALANCHE WAS COMING.”
The newly unveiled Pristine piece, which marks an upgrade for Joe from a previous watch from the founders Ofir Ben Shimon and Avi Davidov-founded brand, also received special attention over on the jewelers’ IG. The case, per Pristine, is covered in “196 cts of all GIA-certified diamonds.” The jewelers have also billed the piece as “one of the biggest timepieces with diamonds ever created.”
Over the weekend, Joe responded to the recent spat of boot-focused commentary, arguing during a livestream with Complex Brackets host Brian “B.Dot” Miller that “being so fly” is actually why he’s been receiving pushback. “I wanna know why I can’t be fresh,” Joe said.
Joe has been making frequent headline appearances as of late, including in connection with his support of a law that would prohibit lyrics from being used against artists in court. Per a Rolling Stonereport in January, Joe—as well as Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Big Sean, and more—have stepped up as signatories on a letter to lawmakers regarding the push for the Rap Music on Trial bill to become law.
