Yeezy remains one of the most-coveted brands in the resale market, according to newly published data by The RealReal.

On Wednesday, the luxury consignment company released its 2019 Resale Report, outlining some of most notable "shopping shifts and rising trends in luxury resale." The report reveals interest in streetwear has grown over the past year, thanks in large part to unique distribution strategies as well as changing tastes among women and older generations.

"Streetwear’s approach of limiting supply has always caused surges of demand in the secondary market, but we’ve seen a big uptick over the past year," said Sean Conway, the Sneaker & Streetwear Expert for The RealReal. "Gender neutrality and statement-making pieces are really striking a chord with millennials, but we’ve also seen growth among women and Gen X contributing to the current streetwear demand spike."

Searches for streetwear brands have also increased 281 percent since 2018.

According to the Resale Report, Yeezy was the most-searched brand over the past year, followed by Off-White, Nike, Supreme, and Fear of God. Kanye's imprint also dominated the list of the top-five most-searched sneaker brands, leading Prada, Balenciaga, Nike, and Golden Goose.

As for the brands with the highest growth in searches, Palm Angels leads the pack with a 1720 percent increase; Off-White x Nike came in at No. 2 with a 1660 percent increase; BAPE at No. 3 with 958 percent; Off-White at No. 4 with 942 percent; and Fear of God rounded out the top five with an increase of 553 percent.

The data highlights streetwear's unwavering dominance and influence in the fashion industry, which is also demonstrated within the collections of storied fashion houses like Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

"As streetwear demand rises, it’s having a ripple effect across all of men’s fashion," said Dominik Halás, the Menswear & Archival Expert for The RealReal. "Luxury brands are embracing collaborations and new creative heads to broaden their appeal. It’s paying off in strong luxury demand among streetwear buyers, particularly with Virgil Abloh’s artistic direction for Louis Vuitton and Alessandro Michele’s bold collections for Gucci."

TheRealReal reports that when streetwear customers expand into the luxury market, "they are most likely to buy Gucci, followed by Prada and Louis Vuitton."
