After a few days of cryptic teases, Drake finally took to Instagram this afternoon and confirmed the launch of an OVO flagship store in his hometown of Toronto. The new location in Yorkdale Mall will be the brand’s fourth brick-and-mortar shop, with additional spots in New York, London, and Los Angeles. There is also the original OVO store which has been open since 2014 and is situated in Toronto’s west end.
The upcoming retail launch coincides with Drake’s annual OVO Festival, which will take over the city this weekend and feature performances by label acts, international stars, and the boy himself. To celebrate the business move and advertise the new space, OVO affiliates posted promo footage on social media. An official video was soon uploaded to Vimeo, featuring Drake and a whole bunch of associates parading around Yorkdale decked out in OVO gear. The clip is set to Drizzy’s More Life cut, “Gyalchester”, which was recently performed at the Billboard Music Awards alongside new signee, Baka Not Nice.
The OVO Flagship store will open August 5 in Yorkdale Shopping Centre. In the meantime, you can check out the alternative Toronto location at 899 Dundas St West.
