Drake has officially signed his longtime associate Baka Not Nice to OVO Sound. The rapper has been a member of Drake's inner circle for many years and had his vocals featured on a number of The Boy's tracks, and just recently dropped his single "Live Up To My Name" which has been his most successful yet.
Baka signed is contract in front of a crowd at a New York City nightclub after Drake made a speech that gave mention to some of Baka's past legal troubles. The rapper's run ins with the law include charges of procuring prostitution and human trafficking (which were later dropped) in addition to various assault and firearms charges for which time was served. He got out in late 2015.
Drake continues to expand his OVO imprint with the signing of R&B singer PLAZA last month and now Baka. No word on whether the two newest additions will be part of the all-OVO lineup for OVO Fest this year.
