Deshaun Watson Donates His First Paycheck to Stadium Workers

The rookie gave over $27K to three women who lost everything in Hurricane Harvey.

Deshaun Watson, rookie quarterback for the NFL's Houston Texans, may be new to the team and the city, but he's still incredibly aware of the devastation that Hurricane Harvey brought to his new home. So he decided to help with relief efforts in a very direct and personal way.

Watson took his very first game's paycheck, for $27,353, and gave it to three women who work in the NRG Stadium cafeteria, and who lost everything in the storm. ESPN captured the moment, and you can see it in the video above.

After presenting his gift to the women, Watson said, "Hopefully, that's good and that can get you back on your feet. And anything else y'all need, I'm always here to help."

Watson was once on the other side of charitable giving. A decade ago, Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with former NFL player Warrick Dunn, built Watson's family a house.
