Several NBA sources have tweeted about the news, while fans of the film shared excitement at the prospect of Hernangomez coming to Toronto, particularly given that Sandler has also recently been spending time in the city:

In the film, Sandler portrays a basketball scout who discovers Hernangomez’s character Bo Cruz overseas and brings him to train in the U.S.

Hernangomez was first drafted by the Denver Nuggets 15th overall in 2016, and has played for the Timberwolves, the Celtics, the Spurs, and Utah Jazz.
